Are you tired of the same old boring gym routines? Looking for an exciting way to get fit, build strength and boost your confidence all at once? Pole dancing might be exactly what you’re looking for, and here at Hemera Pole Dance School in London, we’re passionate about introducing more people to this transformative art form and exercise.
Traditional gym workouts often isolate specific muscle groups, requiring you to perform different exercises for your arms, legs, core and so on. Pole dancing, on the other hand, engages your entire body simultaneously. When you’re learning to climb, spin or invert on a pole, you’re using your arms, shoulders, core, back and legs all at once—whilst also expressing yourself artistically.
During a single one-hour pole class at Hemera, you’ll work on:
Whilst the physical benefits are impressive, what truly sets pole dancing apart is its impact on mental wellbeing and artistic expression. Many of our students report incredible improvements in:
One of our beginner students recently shared: “I never thought I could lift my own body weight or move so gracefully, but after just a few weeks of classes, I was able to climb the pole and perform a simple routine. The sense of achievement was indescribable!”
Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to master advanced techniques, our range of classes caters to all abilities:
Perfect for those getting started, these classes focus on correct grip techniques and foundational moves to build strength and confidence. You’ll work with static poles as you learn the basics of this exciting dance form.
As you progress, you’ll start going upside down and incorporating more challenging moves and spins. The combinations become longer and more involved as your strength, technique and artistic expression improve.
Our most advanced level focuses on splits, flips, tumbles, elbow grips, static pole work, spin combinations, conditioning and transitions. Students at this level can aerial invert on both sides and perform shoulder mounts with confidence, all whilst maintaining beautiful lines and fluid movement.
At Hemera, we understand that variety keeps motivation high and helps you develop as a complete pole dancer. That’s why we offer specialised classes:
Many people hesitate to try pole dancing because they believe they need to be already strong, flexible or have dance experience—this simply isn’t true!
