YOUR FIRST POLE CLASS

What to expect

Your first pole class (you've got this)

Feeling excited, curious, maybe a tiny bit nervous? Completely normal.

Everyone’s first class feels like that, even the confident ones.

At Hemera, beginners are genuinely welcome. You don’t need strength, flexibility or experience to start, that’s what classes are for.

The stuff everyone worries about

“What if I feel awkward?”

You probably will at first. That’s completely normal. Pole is a new skill, and nobody expects you to walk in knowing what you’re doing.

“Everyone else will be better than me.”

Everyone in the room started as a beginner. Including the instructor. The only difference is time and practice.

“I’m worried it’s going to feel too sexy or uncomfortable.”

Pole can be strong, expressive or playful, but nothing is forced. You choose what feels right for you, always.

“I’m not strong, flexible or coordinated.”

Perfect. That’s why beginner classes exist. You build those things as you go, not before you start.

“What if I mess up or can’t do the moves?”

That’s part of learning. We break everything down step by step and support you through it, no rushing, no pressure.

“What if I feel out of place?”

You won’t. Our classes are welcoming, inclusive and judgement-free. You’re here to learn, not to perform.

Prefer a structured start?

If the idea of walking into a drop-in class feels a bit overwhelming, our 6-week beginner pole fitness course is a calm, confidence-building way to start.

This course is designed for complete beginners and focuses on learning the fundamentals properly, step by step, in a consistent group.

What’s included in the 6-week course

  • 6 consecutive weekly classes
  • 3 classes on static pole
  • 3 classes on spinning pole

Across the 6 weeks, you’ll focus on:

  • Pole conditioning
  • Strength building
  • Basic moves and spins
  • Safe technique and steady progression

No experience needed. You don’t need to be strong or flexible before you start, you build that as you go.

How the course works

Once you choose your start date, you’ll be automatically booked into the same class, at the same time, on the same day each week for all 6 weeks.

This consistency helps you:

  • feel more comfortable each session

  • track your progress clearly

  • learn alongside the same group

  • build confidence without rushing

A quick heads-up

Because this is a structured course, classes run as a set 6-week block. If you miss a class during the course, we’re unfortunately not able to offer make-up sessions.

This keeps the experience fair and consistent for everyone on the course.

What to wear (keep it simple)

  • Shorts (skin grip helps)
  • A vest or fitted top
  • Bare feet or socks
  • Bring water

No special pole outfits needed. Save that for later
